Team India Inches Close To Series Win Over South Africa In Nagpur Test

The Nagpur Test pitch proved too hot to handle for both India and South Africa, as bowlers make merry, and a total of twenty wickets fell on the second day of the match.

For Team India, Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja stood out, while Imran Tahir and Morne Morkel exploited the conditions for South Africa to dismiss the Indian team.

Both Indian spinners continued from where they left the first day, and bundled South Africa for a paltry 79 in the first session only. Ashwin finished with a fifer, while Jadeja took four.

Team India took a healthy 136-run lead on a pitch that were turning square right from the start. None of the Proteas batsmen managed to put any fight whatsoever and surrendered rather tamely.

Shikhar Dhawan proved to be Team India’s savior in the second innings, and applied a lot of application. He made a crucial partnerships with Cheteshwar Pujara and Virat Kohli to put the hosts on a promising positions.

South Africa skipper, interestingly, didn’t start with Imran Tahir, but as soon as the leg-spinner got the ball he spun his web and completed a fifer, while India were bundled for 173.

Team India posted a 310-run target for South Africa, and when the Indian spinners again showed their class by getting two Proteas batsmen out before the stumps on Day 2.

Ravichandran Ashwin drew first blood by getting rid of Stiaan van Zyl, while Amit Mishra dismissed nightwatchman Imran Tahir, as South Africa were reduced to 32/2.
