Suresh Raina’s place in India’s ODI team could be under pressure. His bout of viral fever may have given the opportunity for Kedar Jadhav, who so far he has done well with the bat.
Jadhav could make India win the second match against New Zealand at the Feroz Shah Kotla on Thursday, but his batting showed that Suresh Raina would have to wait for sometime to get his chance to bat for India again.

MS Dhoni and Jadhav constructed a 66-run stand for the fifth wicket. Jadhav also made 41 from 37 deliveries after the top-order failed to capitalise on the decent Kotla track while chasing 243 runs.
India folded up 236 runs and lost the game by only six runs. Ultimately, it was the Dhoni-Jadhav pair which resurrected India’s innings.

It seems quite clear that the team management won’t be tempted to bring in Raina just when someone at No. 6 has done decently for his team. “So what if Raina is fit? Jadhav has done decently for the team and there is no reason to drop him in the next match at Mohali. Raina may have to wait for a while,” a source added.
