Both Steve Smith and Virat Kohli have retained their respective spots in the latest ICC Test Rankings. Smith remains the numero uno batsman, while Kohli has 873 rating points, and placed second in the rankings.
Smith scored captain’s knocks in the series opener against Australia. He scored a century and led his team to victory on a rank-turner. Kohli, however, had a game to forget, as his side slumped to an embarrassing loss.

Ravichandran Ashwin, meanwhile, is the top-ranked bowler in the latest rankings. He has 878 rating points, followed by teammate Ravindra Jadeja. He is tied second with Josh Hazlewood.
Ashwin also remains the number one allrounder in Test cricket. Bangladesh’s Shakib Al Hasan remained second, followed by Jadeja at third position. Mitchell Starc has climbed three spots to fourth, followed by Ben Stokes.

Australia have recently defeated India in Pune in the four-match series. The 2nd Test will take place in Bengaluru. India will be aiming to make a comeback to level the four-match series.
