With no Yuvraj Singh in the Indian ODI team for the Sri Lanka ODI series, isn’t making MS Dhoni bat at No. 4 better option? Perhaps, yes. That is because he has both the experience and fire-power to do justice in that position.
The team management would easily be tempted and in all likelihood would make KL Rahul to bat at that position. But Dhoni could be a better choice. Statistically, Dhoni’s success rate while batting at No. 3 and 4 is quite high.
From the time he took over the captaincy he pushed himself down the order. He eventually became one of the greatest finishers. Now that he isn’t leading India anymore, the team management should use his services at the top.
MS Dhoni is a kind of player who can build partnerships. And can also send bowlers for a leather hunt. He is one player who has also enjoys challenge. Most importantly, his motivation to do well for India still keeps him going.
With India getting ready for the ODI series against Lanka, the batting order is almost settled. Both Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan all set to open the innings and Virat Kohli at No. 3, India could also opt for another batsman.
With Hardik Pandya also certain to retain his place as the all-rounder in the team, after his recent success in the Kandy Test match against the hosts, India could also opt for two spinners along with two pacers.
