The infighting at the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) has now cost the Indian Cricket Board (BCCI) dear. After the DDCA cancelled South Africa practice match due to its lack of pitch preparation recently at the Feroz Shah Kotla, the board had to spend over Rs 10 lakh to make the Palam Cricket Ground match ready.

Sources revealed the Board had to spend around Rs 5 lakhs on refurbishing the dressing room facilities and also had to shell another Rs 5 lakh or so for ground equipments.

It was also reliably learnt that the board also had plans to shift the warm-up tie to the Sector 16 stadium in Chandigarh. But due to the logistical problems, the BCCI bigwigs decided to use the facilities at the Palam Cricket Ground on October 29.

Thanks to this move, the Services team can avail the best of facilities during the domestic season, which is due to start early next month.

Meanwhile, the South African team is supposed to leave for Dharamshala in the evening after playing the practice match at Palam on Tuesday. The visitors are going to take on the hosts India in the opening game of the T20 series on October 2.
