The Kings XI Punjab will get one more chance to salvage some pride when they take on the Royal Challengers Bangalore at Mohali.

After RCB had destroyed the Kings by 138 runs earlier this month, it would have been a good opportunity for the hosts to take revenge. It’s not that the Kings aren’t capable of winning, but they have stopped evolving as a team this season, which resulted in ten successive loses.

With only two wins from 12 games, George Bailey and his men are in state of shock and can only hope of winning a match for a change. Their biggest challenge will be to stop Chris Gayle and AB de Villiers from scoring freely, as these two batsmen will be all charged up to fire all cylinders.

The Kings will also be looking to slow down things for RCB, who are on the threshold of entering the play-off stages. Known to produce the best sporting wicket in the country, Mohali pitch is good for playing strokes and also offers good assistance to the quick bowlers. It will be interesting to see what kind of wicket will be used for the match.

If the game is played on regular Mohali turf, it will suit RCB more than the Kings. Even the bowlers – led by Mitchell Starc – will be looking to repeat their previous match performance, where they dismissed the Kings for a mere 88 runs.
