Ravichandran Ashwin has climbed to the top-spot in the latest ICC Test Rankings. Ashwin was India’s wrecker-in-chief in the 1st Test against West Indies. He finished with seven wickets in the second innings.

The Indian off-spinner has 876 rating points, just one more than the second-placed James Anderson. England seamer Stuart Broad is third, followed by Proteas speedster Dale Steyn and Pakistan leggie Yasir Shah.

Ravindra Jadeja, who missed the opening Test against the Windies, has maintained his sixth position. Trent Boult, Josh Hazlewood, Morne Morkel and Vernon Philander complete the top-10 standings.

Meanwhile, Ashwin also remains the top allrounder in Tests. He is way ahead than the second-placed Shakib Al Hasan. Broad, Philander and Ben Stokes round off the top-five list.

Interestingly, there is no Indian in the top-10 batsmen’s rankings. India Test captain Virat Kohli is the highest-ranked batsmen on 12th spot. Opener Murali Vijay is ranked 17th.

The batsmen’s ranking is topped by Australian captain Steve Smith. England batsman Joe Root is ranked second, ahead of Kane Williamson, Hashim Amla and AB de Villiers.

Adam Voges, David Warner, Misbah-ul-Haq, Alastair Cook and Younus Khan are the other batsmen ranked in the top-10 list of the ICC Test Rankings.
