Ravi Shastri has been appointed as coach of Indian cricket team and Zaheer Khan and Rahul Dravid as consultants. He will join the team by 19 July for the long tour of Sri Lanka.
When asked about his plans with the team Shastri said, “My job is to carry on from where I left. I’m the kind of person who doesn’t like to carry unnecessary baggage. That’s not the way I’ve lived my life and pursued my cricket.”

“So, why should I be any different now? I like to live in the present and take each day as it comes,” he added. “And I love challenges. So, that’s exactly what I’m thinking right now – about the challenges ahead.”
When asked about the drama that ensued, will he forget it? He replied, “I don’t even know what happened as far as the drama is concerned. As I said, I don’t look back at the past but try and keep moving forward.”
“So, on that front, let me tell you, I’m simply going to press the refresh button and begin from where I left.”
