Perfect Scenario for Team India Ahead of World T20 2016: MS Dhoni

It seems everything is falling in place for Team India right before the World T20 2016. They are on a seven-game unbeaten streak, and have won 10 out of 11 T20 games this year.

Beating opponents like Australia, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh is no joke, but the Indian team has managed to do it pretty convincingly.

The recent run of form has resulted in increased expectations from MS Dhoni’s men, and they now are tipped as title contenders, especially seeing the tournament is happening in India.

Dhoni, meanwhile, acknowledged that fans have huge expectations from the team. “When it comes to expectation, I don’t think it is any lesser to what it was in 2011 (World Cup),” Dhoni said.

Winning back-to-back series, followed by a record sixth Asia Cup win must have boosted India’s confidence, as they have peaked at the most ideal time.

Winning at different conditions and against different opponents have given India enough opportunities to get the combination right ahead of the tournament.

India captain, meanwhile, has also termed it the perfect scenario for the team, saying the playing plenty of T20s will help the team in the World T20.

“As far as preparation is concerned, it is difficult for me to exactly remember what we went through just before the start of the 2011 World Cup,” Dhoni said.

“As far as this preparation is concerned, I think we have a perfect scenario,” he added. “We started from Australia playing three T20, followed by a bilateral series at home, and tournament like Asia Cup.”
