Pakistan Super League: Kevin Pietersen Confirms Participation in Pakistan T20 League

The recently-launched Pakistan Super League has received a massive boost, after former England skipper Kevin Pietersen confirmed his participation in the T20 league.

Pietersen, who is currently out of the England team owing to difficult relationship with the ECB, in a video message announced his participation in the Pakistan T20 league to be played early next year in Qatar.

“Absolutely buzzing to be a part of the Pakistani mela (event) coming up in February. I can’t wait to get it started,” Kevin Pietersen said. “It looks like it is going to be a wonderful competition. Lots of fun, lots of sixes, lots of wickets, typical T20 stuff.”

The Pakistan Super League would be having five franchisees, with a prize money of $1 million, and is scheduled to run from February 4 to 24. Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, Quetta and Islamabad would be five teams, and a total of 24 matches to played in the tournament.

A player draft system would be conducted for 25 international players, including Chris Gayle, Dwayne Bravo, Angelo Mathews, Kieron Pollard and Lasith Malinga, to name a few.

England: Kevin Pietersen, Ravi Bopara, Luke Wright, Tim Bresnan, Jade Dernbach, Chris Jordan.
West Indies: Chris Gayle, Kieron Pollard, Darren Sammy, Sunil Narine, Dwayne Bravo, Andre Russell, Lendl Simmons, Denesh Ramdin, Jason Holder.
New Zealand: Jesse Ryder, Grant Elliott, James Franklin.
Bangladesh: Shakib Al Hasan.
Sri Lanka: Angelo Mathews, Lasith Malinga, Thisara Perera.
