After registering a thrilling win by a slender one-run margin over Bangladesh, India have momentum on their side, and they are just one victory away from sealing a spot in the semifinal of the World T20 2016.
Despite successive wins in the tournament, the Indian team still seems to be lacking what it is required to beat teams like New Zealand and South Africa in the tournament.
India’s bowling mainstay Ravichandran Ashwin also echoed the same after the game, adding that the team needs improvement to become title contenders.
“We have not probably batted well,” Ashwin said, while receiving the match of the match award. “Today, we are not real contenders for the tournament, but if it improves we will be.”
“I felt when Tamim’s sweep in the air I thought we were in control, but when he put it down, later on I put one down. I had so much of emotions going through.”
India will be playing their last group game on the tournament against Australia in Mohali. A win will seal their place in the semifinals along with New Zealand.
