Last time, the Kings XI Punjab had played against the Mumbai Indians, both the teams were placed differently. The Kings had come into the match with reputation. By the virtue of being last year’s runner-ups, they had the edge over all the other teams.

Meanwhile, this was Mumbai’s second match after losing to the Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL opener. But as it turned out, Mumbai lost the match at the Wankhede stadium. But when the Kings take on Mumbai in Mohali, they will have a lot to prove.

After losing to the Delhi Daredevils at the Feroz Shah Kotla on, and so, the Mumbai Indians have a clear advantage. That too, after beating the Rajasthan Royals by eight runs on Friday night at the Wankhede stadium.

Probably, the Kings should have played all their home matches in Mohali itself, where they have a very good success rate. They played three of their home game in Pune and made around Rs 9.74 crore from the sale of ticket. While the highest ticket sale amount in Mohali hasn’t exceeded more than Rs 1.4 crore.

Secondly, Pune is closer to Mumbai, where the most of the owners of the Kings are based out of. But now, the need of the hour is to get closer to the Mumbai Indians and stop them from running away with the game.
