We all know how much MS Dhoni loves football, don’t we? He is a co-owner of an Indian Super League club, Chennaiyin FC, and also an avid follower of the English Premier League team Manchester United.

MS Dhoni has made playing football a ritual ahead of any match, be it with the Indian cricket team or with the Indian Premier League team, Chennai Super Kings, which he captains.

The India limited-over skipper is currently on an extended break from cricket, and he is utilising his time to relax himself as much as possible, before the gruelling season starting from the South Africa tour.

Dhoni, in the meantime, is also insuring to keep himself fit and to test his fitness level he went on to play football at the Silli Stadium near Ranchi.

The Ranchi-born was a goalkeeper during his early days, before taking up wicketkeeping in school, and the rest is history, as they say.

According to reports, on getting invited from an old friend, Sudesh, MS Dhoni went to the Silli Football Academy to test his soccer skills. And, he didn’t disappoint.

Dhoni scored a goal while playing on the left flank and showed how fit he is. The 34-year-old is still considered as one of the fittest cricketers in the Indian cricket team.

“I was testing my endurance after a month,” said MS Dhoni. “I have been taking complete rest, spending time with the family for the last one month.”

The Indian captain did suffer a few bruises while playing, but he remained on the field for the full 90 minutes before heading home for a much-need break.
