Jharkhand have faced a heartbreaking defeat in the 2nd semifinal of the Ranji Trophy. Gujarat have defeated Jharkhand by 123 runs at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Ground, Nagpur.
The defeat also put curtains over Jharkhand’s scintillating campaign. They had taken a narrow 18-run lead over Gujarat in the first innings. They, however, failed to show the same spirit in the second innings.
MS Dhoni-mentored Jharkhand could only manage to score 111 runs in the second innings. Jasprit Bumrah and RP Singh wretched havoc with the ball, and dismantled Jharkhand in both the innings.

RP Singh finished with nine wickets in the match, while Bumrah ripped through Jharkhand in the second innings.
Jharkhand needed to survive the final day, but it seemed that they missed Dhoni in their ranks. All Jharkhand batsmen, including Virat Singh, Saurabh Tiwari and Ishank Jaggi, failed to put up any resistance.
In the first innings, Jharkhand took the lead through Jaggi’s impressive hundred. Kishan and Kaushal Singh scored fifties. Shahbaz Nadeem took a fifer for Jharkhand in the second innings.
