One done four more to go! After two-week long classroom lessons, MS Dhoni finally got to jump off an Indian Air Force aircraft to complete his first parachute jump.

There are four more jumps left, including a night jump, which would help earn MS Dhoni a coveted Para Wings insignia. Currently, Dhoni wears the maroon paratrooper beret, as a sign of commissioning into the elite Para Regiment.

MS Dhoni, an honorary lieutenant colonel in 106 Parachute Regiment, hopped-off an AN32 aircraft of the Indian Air Force (IAF), with a canopy static line parachute to land at the Malpura dropping zone, Agra.

Now, with four more jumps left, MS Dhoni is inching close to become a qualified parajumper, which would also justify his rank of the lieutenant colonel.

Earlier, MS Dhoni reported for the initial para-training in Agra on August 6, and was given lectures on the basic techniques of parachute jumping.

The India limited-over skipper also went through toughening exercises to strengthen the body for coping jerks and jolts of the parachute jumping.

Interestingly, MS Dhoni is not the only sportsperson to attain the honorary rank in the Indian Army, but he is surely the first one who has taken this job seriously.

The Captain Cool is also the first cricketer, who has hopped off an Air Force aircraft and undergoing military training to become a parachute jumper.
