MS Dhoni Comes Forward to Help Cancer Patient

Indian Cricket Team limited-overs captain MS Dhoni, alongwith other sportspersons, has come forward to help a cancer patient Bapi Majhi and deceased Alip Chakraborty’s family.

The amount collected from the auction will be given to Majhi, who is undergoing a treatment for liver cancer, while a part of the amount will be given to the wife of Chakraborty, who passed away from a throat cancer.

MS Dhoni has donated his pads and wicketkeeping gloves for the fund raising event will take place in Central Kolkata. The Indian captain will not be present in the event, which is organised by a Kolkata-based media group, as he would be touring Zimbabwe for playing three one-dayers and three T20s.

Ajinkya Rahane, vice-captain of the Indian Test team, has donated his autographed India jersey to raise funds for the cause. Apart from Dhoni and Rahane, Sourav Ganguly and Shakib Al Hasan have also contributed to the cause. Ganguly has given his couple of jerseys, while Bangladesh’s Shakib has donated his signed bat.

Former Indian batsman VVS Laxman, along with Brad Hogg, Manish Pandey and Indian women pacer Jhulan Goswami have donated their jerseys.

Goalkeeper of the Indian National Football Team Gurpreet Sandhu has donated his signed goalkeeping gloves, while captain Sunil Chhetri and Jeje Lalpheklhua have given their jerseys.
