With five defeats in six matches, Kings XI Punjab are currently places at the bottom of the points table. There hopes of reaching the knockout stage are also fading way.
The Kings are now required to win all their remaining matches in the tournament to reach the playoffs, and seeing their current form it is looking highly unlikely.
Mohit Sharma, who is also Punjab’s leading wickettaker this season, is hoping that a couple of favorable results will certainly change their campaign for the good.
“The boys have been doing well but we go wrong in one of the areas,” Mohit said. “For example while we were doing well with the ball in earlier matches we didn’t do so well today, but our batting did well today.”
“Glenn Maxwell has been able to score well today and David Miller also looked good,” he added. “Hopefully we will be able to comeback. Everyone is working hard and if we get one or two good victories we will be able to make a comeback.”
Mohit was Punjab’s star buy in the IPL auction as the franchisee spent a whooping 6.5 crore. He, so far, has managed to live upto the hefty price tag by picking seven wickets in the league.
