It was no less than a scary moment, when a well-directed bouncer of Nathan Coulter-Nile hit George Bailey right at the front of the helmet.
The impact was such that Bailey’s helmet disintegrated and went over the stumps. Fortunately, the Rising Pune Supergiants player went unhurt.
Speaking on the incident, Bailey compared Coulter-Nile’s bouncer with being hit by a truck, adding that he fortunate to have been wearing the new helmets.
“I think those watching on TV would get a better picture of it than I do, because what I sort of remember is me getting hit on the face with a truck that was pretty quick,” Bailey said. “But, I was pretty glad to have one of those new helmets on.”

Coulter-Nile went straight to Bailey to see if his former Australia captain was alright. Other Pune players, too, rushed to Bailey to check the amount of impact.
“A couple of them were disappointed that the helmet hadn’t rolled on to the stumps,” Bailey said with a smile. “But, most people were just checking on me and how I was.”
