Indian team captain, Virat Kohli praises the bowlers for a splendid performance at the first twenty-twenty international in Ranchi at the Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA). India won the match by nine wickets after duck-worth lewis method was implied due to heavy rainfall. India leads by 1-0 in the three match T20I series.
Australia had scored 118-8 in 18.4 overs when rains suspended the play.
” After winning the toss and bowling first the bowlers were up to the mark again. The game can get tricky with a small chase like that. It’s a been a combined effort from the players. Wrist spinners, if you give them confidence they’ll get you wickets over 4 or 5 games,” said Kohli.
He further added that in shorter formats, combination of right mind frame and skill set both are required.
“Their skill comes more into play. Their mystery deliveries get you wickets at all stages of play,” said Indian team captain
Moreover, Shikhar Dhawan was back in the team today after a long break as he was out of the team due to his ailing wife.
” Dhawan is happy to be back. Those 15 runs will be very important for him, he’s had a decent start again and he’s come back,” added Kohli.
Indian bowlers, including Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, and Hardik Pandya are scripting another league in the cricket history of India by showing dominance on the bowling side. Until now, Indian team was strong on the batting side but now, the team looks a balanced team.
Bumrah became the man of the match and Yadav was named player of the match.
Australian team has been struggling hard in front of these wrist-spinners.
