What a wonderful session for Team India! Six wickets in quick succession has given India the chance from where they can look to go for the kill. The session belonged to the Indian bowlers especially Ishant Sharma, who looked a totally different bowler post lunch. The beauty of Test cricket is that you only need one session to change the face of the game and that’s exactly what has happened in Nottingham.
Ishant Sharma not only impressed with his reverse swing but also found that nip of his bowling which has always been his trademark and whenever he gets that combination in his bowling, he looks a lethal bowler to face. His victims in form of Sam Robson, Gary Ballance and Ian Bell were enough to cause cracks in the English batting line-up. More damage was done by Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Mohammad Shami, who pounced on the English batting as soon as it looked vulnerable to reverse swing.
Credit should also be given here to Indian Captain MS Dhoni, who always had plan B for his bowlers. He didn’t hesitate in rotating his bowlers and always gave them an aggressive field which not only put pressure on the English batsmen but also gave them the confidence.
Team India shouldn’t miss on the opportunity they have got in this session and they need to wrap the England batting as soon as possible. Post-tea session will be an exciting contest between the two teams..
