Shikhar Dhawan has been ruled out of the 3rd Test against New Zealand owing to a minor fracture. Opener Karun Nair has replaced him in the Indian team for the final Test at the Holkar Cricket Stadium.
Dhawan is advised a 15-day rest after been hit by a Trent Boult bouncer in the Kolkata Test. Gautam Gambhir is likely to replace him in the upcoming match, starting October 8 in Indore.

BCCI in a statement said: The All-India Senior Selection Committee have named batsman Karun Nair as the replacement for injured opener Shikhar Dhawan in the Indian Team. Dhawan ruled out of the 3rd Test of the Paytm Test series against New Zealand after he sustained a minor fracture on his left hand.
This is the second injury Indian team has sustained in the series. Earlier, KL Rahul suffered a hamstring injury during the 1st Test in Kanpur. Rahul is out of the entire Test series against New Zealand.

The Indian team has already sealed the three-match with back-to-back wins. They have climbed the top-spot in the ICC Test Rankings.
