Team India

As the saying goes, a captain is as good as his team and who else better knows this than Virat Kohli. Just a few years in the business and the pundits are already dubbing him as one of the best to have led India.

No doubting that but it’s also true that no Indian captain in the past had the luxury of having such batting and bowling champions in the team.  Right from the pace department to spinners, all have a recognisable standing.

Fast bowler to reach the 250 Test scalps, Ravichandran Ashwin is top bowler in the world. He is often assisted by Ravindra Jadeja. Then there are others like veteran leggie Amit Mishra and Jayant Yadav.

When it comes to the pace bowling department, the competition to be in playing the XI is so intense that even Ishant Sharma isn’t a regular playing member. India also not getting the services of Mohd Shami for his knee injury.

The likes of Umesh Yadav and Bhuvneshwar Kumar have been outstanding. Even you leave all of them out, there would be a few more willing to put their hands up. As far as the batting prowess of the Indian team is concerned, there is no team in the world which has a Virat Kohli.

Fortunately for India, he is both the best batsman in the team and rightfully the captain of the side, which combines to become a deadly force. Right up to the batting order, the team also boasts of names like the talented KL Rahul and dependable Murali Vijay who is solid with his technique with the new ball.

Next in the line is Cheteshwar Pujara, who is getting better by the day. Things look a little bit stable with the India Test team vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane who comes out and plays his natural game with utmost ease.

Similarly the other bunch of all-rounders like Ashwin and Jadeja do their bit with the bat, while wicketkeeper Wriddhiman  Saha can’t wait to take his guard to keep Parthiv Patel out of the equation.

All put together makes this India team a very dangerous side clubbed with the additional batting force of Kohli that renders the team even more powerful.

Therefore, when the Aussies come calling, they would not only need to worry about Kohli alone this time, there will be ten more to tick off in the list in whichever manner required. The host team is is a tough nut to crack this time.
