The Women’s Big Bash League is set to receive a major boost, as its next edition is likely to see Indian Cricket Team players in action, according to cricket.com.au.

According to reports, the Indian Cricket Board (BCCI) has given a green signal to the players for competing in WBBL’s next season.

The move means, Indian Cricket Team players like Mithali Raj and Jhulan Goswami can play their trades in the Australian T20 league, to gain more exposure.

“If we got the permission we’d definitely want to be here,” Goswami had said in January. “Hopefully they (BCCI) can sort it out and we can be in the WBBL.”

“It would be a good experience, it would expose us to playing with other teammates, so we’re definitely looking forward to that,” she added. “I think that will definitely be sorted out in the next year.”

However, the announcement might have come a touch late for the players, who wanted to compete in the England’s Women’s Super League.

The WSL is slated to take place this year from July 30 to August 14, and the squads for the inaugural edition have already been finalised.
