Indian Cricket Team Bowlers Came to the Party

Normal is boring. What is a match without some surprises springing up and, perhaps, after the Test series win over England at home, Indian bowlers came to the party for the first time.

In the 2nd T20 match in Nagpur, it was England posing a threat, till the last three overs of the match happened. At the end of the 17 over, England was 118 for four and required 27 runs from 18 deliveries.

Eight out of ten times, England, which is also the second best T20 side in the world, would have won the match in grand style. But on Sunday night in Nagpur, Jasprit Bumrah had other plans.

The Gujarat cricketer bowled a very tight 18th over, letting an addition of only three runs to the score. This finally turned out to be the game changer. He bowled full length and targeted the block-hole.

In the middle of a game which was veering towards a victory for England, this was truly a bolt from the blue, clearly attacking the mind of the opposite team. Consequently, it was evident that the team was trying everything.

However though, Bumrah’s 18th over, put the Indian team into a better position. Yet unpredictably reigned high with the 19th over titling the game back to visitors. Then came experienced left-arm seamer Ashish Nehra.

He, after delivering three superb overs with three scalps from 12 runs, bowled an expensive last over of his spell. England plundered 16 runs and reduced the match to 8 runs from a sea of deliveries.

This was the situation in the match, wherein England’s win was almost inevitable. But it seemed that the winning strings were attached to Bumrah on that day. He once again exhibited exemplary skills to throw England out of gear.

It was indeed the most dramatic moment in the ongoing game, after the bowlers churning out an above average job, alongside KL Rahul who contributed a 71 runs out of India’s total of 144.

Eventually, England in spite of a steady performance fell short by 5 runs allowing India to level the series to its advantage. This has surely has led to a rise in expectations

As the team would be eagerly waiting for some crackling performance in the last game of the three-match T20 series in Bangalore. As the players keep their practises on, let’s keep our spirits on till then!
