MS Dhoni and Yuvraj Singh showed in Cuttack what experience can do to a team. When they combined in the middle, India were struggling 25/3. But, the duo powered the hosts to a massive 381 in the 2nd ODI against England.
Both Dhoni (134) and Yuvraj (150) stuck centuries for the Indian team, and also stitched a record partnership. They added 256 runs for the fourth wicket, highest by any team against England, and decimated the English attack.

Yuvraj, in particular, was in a different mode altogether. He took all England bowlers for the cleaners, and looked unstoppable, until he edged one to Jos Buttler. Yuvraj scored his first ton since March 2011.
Dhoni, meanwhile, showed how to finish off the innings. He teared the English attack apart in the final stage of the innings. MSD also completed 200 sixes in the one-dayers, and smashed six cleaners in his 122 balls innings.
“I am very happy with the innings. We were trying to get a partnership,” Yuvraj said. “I just wanted to play down the ground and not take much risk. I have been hitting the ball well in the whole domestic season.”
“Dhoni has been a sensational captain for India,” he added. “When Mahi is not captaining, he will bat freely.”
With the new-ball, England had their tails up when they dismantled India’s top-order. India lost KL Rahul (5), Virat Kohli (8) and Shikhar Dhawan (11) inside five overs. Chris Woakes took all three Indian wickets.
It was the only time England were in command. As Dhoni and Yuvraj took the game away from them. “With the five fielder rule, mid-on, mid-off is up, the wicket was not [helpful] for the seamers after the first 10 overs,” Yuvraj said.
