Karun Nair scored his maiden Test hundred, as India reduced England’s lead to just 14 runs in Chennai. The Indian team was at 463/5 at lunch on Day 4, with Nair (122) and Ravichandran Ashwin (9) in the middle.
India lost just one wickets in the morning session in Murali Vijay (29). Liam Dawson dismissed Vijay to break a 63-run partnership between him and Nair. But, that was the only success England tasted in the session.

Ashwin and Nair have added 28 runs so far for the sixth wicket at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. India would be hoping to score as many runs as possible in the post-lunch session before going for the declaration.
The Chepauk pitch still has good bounce and carry, if efforts are put. Some balls, however, are keeping low and stopping at the batsmen. Nair so far has done well to survive 217 balls in Chepauk.
