England have dominated the opening day of the 4th Test in Mumbai. They ended the day at 288/5, with Jos Buttler and Ben Stokes in the middle. Keaton Jennings struck his maiden Test century to put England in command.
Jennings made solid partnerships at the top-order with Alastair Cook, Joe Root and Moeen Ali. He ensured that England made most of the advantage they got after winning the toss.
“Couldn’t be happier, couldn’t be prouder. A life early on, got the beans going,” Jennings said. “Just chatting to my uncle, trying to approach like I would any other game. Woke up at 5 am this morning, thinking I missed the bus.”

Ravichandran Ashwin, again, stood out with his performance. He took four wickets, while Ravindra Jadeja chipped-in with one at the end. India did manage to come back into the encounter with some quick wickets.
The Indians dismissed Ali (50), Jennings (112) and Bairstow (14) inside 20 runs. But, Stokes (25 not out) and Buttler (18 not out) looked solid as ever. They have stitched an unbeaten 39-run stand for the sixth wicket.
