After MS Dhoni and Yuvraj Singh, it was bowlers’ turn to deliver on a belter. And, they ensured a 15-run win for the Indian team in the 2nd ODI at the Barabati Stadium. The win also sealed the three-match series for India in Cuttack.
Ravichandran Ashwin was England’s nemesis, as he finished with three crucial wickets. He got good support from the other end, as Ravindra Jadeja knotted the England batsmen, and also dismissed dangerous Jason Roy (82).

“It’s very disappointing to get so close and not over the line,” Eoin Morgan said. “Bowling to MS Dhoni and Yuvraj can be difficult. Your margin for error is quite small, you have to try and break the partnership.”
“We believed we could chase it down. There’s a tremendous amount of belief but we didn’t quite have the skill.”

Roy, Joe Root (54) and Morgan played good innings for England. But, the the target proved to be a touch too much for them. England were always playing the catching game, as the required rate kept on climbing up.
Morgan, meanwhile, took the game close with a captain’s knock. He scored a century for the visitors, but his effort went in vain. Morgan (102) got run out in the penultimate over of the chase.
Earlier, India posted a mammoth total, courtesy centuries from Dhoni and Yuvraj. They stitched a 256-run partnership for the fifth wicket. The rescued India when they were reeling at 25/3.
