India have won the Border Gavaskar Trophy with a convincing win in the 4th Test in Dharamshala. They won the 4th Test by eight wickets, and capped-off an impressive home season. India won the series 2-1.
KL Rahul, again, played an impressive inning and scored his sixth fifty in seven innings against Australia. He remained unbeaten till the end, and helped India to chase down 106 in the first session itself.
Australia tried their best to come back into the contest. They dismissed Murali Vijay and soon after Cheteshwar Pujara, but Ajinkya Rahane and Rahul added unbeaten 60 runs for the third wicket to seal the contest.
Rahul scored fifty in the first innings as well, and helped India in taking a 32-run lead in Dharamshala. Australia had scored 300 in their first innings, followed by a paltry 137 in the second.
“We spoke about it that we will take one series at a time, one match at a time, one session at a time,” Anil Kumble said. “To come back from 1-0 down, when you could see there were tired bodies around, it was brilliant.”
“Rahane led the team brilliantly after losing the toss,” he further added. “The fast bowlers throughout the season have bowled brilliantly. The positives have been adapting to conditions.”
