India vs Australia 2nd Test: Will Hosts Emerge Successful to Level Series?

By opting for a turning track against Australia in Pune, the Indians perhaps were looking to repeat the South African show. But the game plan of putting the Aussies on the mat in the very 1st Test on a turner backfired completely.

It was a classic case of how man proposes, God disposes. India, eventually, lost the opening game by 333 runs.

Things have come to such a pass that the team management is looking to see a track which would turn from Day 3 and not from Day 1. It was also discussed that decision to play on a turner was taken to put pressure on the visitors.

But, the toss has became an important factor. Now the team is banking on kind of tracks which won them Test series against New Zealand and England. It is also understood that the management isn’t reading too much into the defeat.

There could be some cosmetic change in the line-up to strengthen the batting unit. But it’s not something which has been already decided. The management also believes that it can’t become a bad side by just one defeat.

Simultaneously, the players are extremely positive and want to fight hard to restore pride. Will the Indian team emerge successful to level the series? It could be anybody game in the 2nd Test in Bengaluru.

On top of that, Virat Kohli plays lot of cricket in Bangalore through his IPL outfit the Royal Challengers Bangalore. Coach Anil Kumble hails from the city of gardens and, therefore, the Indian fans could expect some resilience.

Also a question which is bothering every cricket lover in this country.

Can Kohli do what former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly did in 2001, sixteen years ago?

India had lost a Test in Mumbai against Australia under Ganguly. From there, India could beat all the odds and win the series very convincingly (2-1). India had won the next two games in Kolkata and Chennai then.
