The spotlight will again turn towards the pitch in the 2nd Test match between India and Australia. The series opener at the MCA Stadium lasted less than three days, in which the Indian team faced an heavy defeat.
If everything remains right, the spectators will get to see a competitive game at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. Karnataka Cricket Association’s R Sudhakar Rao insisted that the groundsmen are preparing sporting wicket.

“So far we have not been told anything,” Rao said. “Once they arrive, we have to see if they make any suggestions.”
“Our intention is to prepare a sporting, Test-match pitch,” he insisted. “We want a five-day match. We definitely don’t want to see the match end in two and a half days.”

The 1st Test witnessed a wicket that turned square right from the first day’s play. Australia, after opting to bat first, used the spin conducive conditions, and thumped the Indian’s to take the series lead.
“On the first two days, the pitch should be good for batting and help medium-pacers,” Rao said. “On days two and three there should be slow turn. Then on the last two days there should be more turn.”
