India had a terrible outing in the series opener. On a rank-turner, they failed to apply themselves and handed over the lead to Australia. India lost the game by a whooping 333-run margin in Pune.
The pitch was under the spotlight in the opening game, and all eyes will be on the pitch, again, in the 2nd Test. Meanwhile, Anil Kumble insisted that he is not much concerned about Chinnaswamy Stadium’s pitch.

“I don’t know much about the Chinnaswamy wicket to be frank,” Kumble said.
“I have grown up playing on this ground but it is generally been a good batting surface,” he added. “I’m sure it will be a result wicket and that’s exactly what we want in a Test match.”

Kumble also said that nothing is lost for the Indian team in the series. He insisted that there is still a lot of cricket to be played against the Aussies. He further added that the team has moved on from the loss in Pune.
“I don’t want to look back, we are here to look ahead. As a coach it’s more important for me to look ahead,” Kumble insisted. “It was one of those games where things didn’t go our way but you just need to move on.”
