The iconic bat of India skipper MS Dhoni, with which he hit the winning six in the 2011 World Cup final against Sri Lanka has been put on display at Bengali Market, Delhi.

Amit Bhagchandka, an avid MS Dhoni fan, bought the bat for 100,000 pounds in 2011 and it was entered into the Limca Book of Records and Guinness World Records.

“The bat may be in possession of R.K. Global but it will forever remain Dhoni’s property,” Bhagchandka said. “We consider ourselves the custodian of his legacy.”

“Winning the 2011 World Cup was very overwhelming. From childhood we had only seen pictures of Kapil Dev lifting the (1983) trophy. Dhoni gave us a chance to witness history in the making.”

MS Dhoni is arguably the best wicket-keeper batsman to have played the game and is also the most successful skipper of the Indian cricket team.

The Indian captain has won all three major ICC events, namely World Cup, World T20 Championship, Champions Trophy and currently in Australia to defend the World Cup title.

MS Dhoni has won the ICC ODI Player of the Year award two successive times in 2008 and 2009. And, is also honoured with Padma Shri.
