What a way to win a five-match Test series! With a one Test still to be played in Chennai, India have already wrapped the series in Mumbai. The hosts are also leading by a 3-0 margin over the visitors.
It has come to such a stage that the pundits are even talking about India making it a 4-0 affair after the Chennai Test. If the opening Test match in Rajkot could have gone in favour of India. The experts, perhaps, would have been taking about a whitewash today.
India’s performance was so convincing in the Test series that the future of England’s Test captain Alastair Cook is at stake right now. Especially after losing two Test series in Bangladesh and India.
Contrarily, Cook’s opponent captain Virat Kohli is having the most memorable time out there in the middle. After making his career best 235 in India’s first innings, there is no words to describe how good his batting has become.

However, Kohli attributes at least 60 per cent of India’s recent exploits to R Ashwin’s all-round shows. If you ask Ashwin, he would attribute his success to his fellow spinners like Ravindra Jadeja.
These are the same set of players, who were promoted by former Test captain MS Dhoni at some point or the other. When Dhoni used to promote the likes of Ashwin and Jadeja in his IPL outfit he captained, Chennai Super Kings. A lot of the critics used to question the former India Test skipper for backing them in the Test cricket.
Today, Dhoni is the last man to take the credit for India’s convincing series win over England. But in a way, he too played a role in some way in preparing such a strong Indian Test team.
