Veteran pacer Ashish Nehra will take no further part in the ongoing Indian Premier League, after sustaining a hamstring injury.

Losing Nehra is a big setback for Sunrisers Hyderabad, as the pacer has been in a fine wicket-taking form, and has also swung the new-ball.

In a press statement, the Sunrisers informed that Nehra has sustained a ‘significant hamstring tendon injury’ and will take no further part in the IPL.

“Ashish Nehra is now in consultation with a specialist orthopedic surgeon for the most appropriate course of treatment to ensure a successful return to competitive cricket.”

“Unfortunately he will play no further part in the ninth edition of the Indian Premier League for Sunrisers Hyderabad,” the statement reads.

This is the second time this season that Nehra has broken down to injury. Earlier in the season he sustained a groin injury, and missed four matches in the league.

The Sunrisers are currently sitting at the top of the points’ table, and are required to win just one more match to seal the top-spot. They are set to face Delhi Daredevils and Kolkata Knight Riders in their last two matches.
