Gautam Gambhir and MS Dhoni have played a lot of cricket together. They won the World T20 and then 2011 World Cup together. However, later, Gambhir fell out of flavour, and faced an axe from the Indian Cricket Team.
The media repeatedly reported about the rift between Gambhir and Dhoni, when the former got dropped from the team. Gambhir has now cleared the air about his relation with Dhoni, in an interaction with his fans in Facebook.
“There’s no rivalry between me and Dhoni,” Gambhir said. “I feel whenever we’ve played for India, irrespective of the differences of opinion, our ultimate aim was to make the country proud and help India win.”

The Indian opener, however, made comeback into the Indian team on a number of occasions. But, he failed to cement his place in the side again. He recently played against New Zealand and England, but got dropped.
Gambhir, meanwhile, said that there were difference of opinions between him and Dhoni. But, he termed the Indian limited-overs captain a fantastic player and a human being.
“There are bound be differences in opinion and that happens in any sphere of life. If you are in a group, be it in a family or anywhere else,” Gambhir said. “I think he’s (Dhoni) a fantastic player, a fantastic human being.”
