The Cricket South Africa (CSA) has named Faf du Plessis as their new ODI captain. This means, du Plessis will lead South Africa in all three formats of game. He also leads the Proteas in Tests and T20Is.
Haroon Lorgat, CSA chief executive, termed Faf as one of the best leaders in world cricket. du Plessis, meanwhile, has taken the captaincy baton from South African star batsman AB de Villiers.

“Congratulations to Faf on his appointment as the natural successor to the ODI leadership,” Haroon said.
“He has established himself as one of the best leaders in world cricket,” he added. “And this was reflected in his appointment as the captain for the World XI currently engaged in the T20 Series against Pakistan.”
