Captain MS Dhoni Asks for Improvement in Bowling Departsment

It was the same bowling attack that ripped Zimbabwe apart in the one-day series. The same attack which never allowed the hosts to post anything close to competitive in the three one-dayers.

The 1st T20, however, turned out to be a different game altogether. Zimbabwe batsmen looked a lot more positive in the format that suits them better. The hosts eventually won the content by just two runs.

At one point India had reduced Zimbabwe to 111 for five. The bowlers, in the death overs, failed to hit the right length, and ended up giving away too many runs.

The Indian captain MS Dhoni, quite rightly, was not pleased with his bowlers’ performance. He asked for improvement in the remaining two games, which are India’s must-win contests in the series.

“We were not playing with out first XI in the bowling department,” MS Dhoni said during the post-match press conference. “Our lengths were not right.”

Meanwhile, Zimbabwe captain Graeme Cremer praised allrounder Elton Chigumbura, who stuck an unbeaten fifty. Chigumbura’s knock steered the hosts to a competitive total, and helped them in taking the initiative in the series.

“We know Elton can always be dangerous,” Cremer said. “He is one innings away from doing something special again. today could have gone either way.”
