Who is better, Virat Kohli or AB de Villiers? This is a never-ending debate, seeing that they both have played some scintillating innings for Royal Challengers Bangalore this season.
Kohli, however, has stressed that there is nothing left to debate, seeing the way de Villiers carried the Royal Challengers to the IPL final last night.
de Villiers single-handedly took the RCB over the line in the first qualifier against Gujarat Lions. He played a innings that will be remembered for a long time.
The Proteas helped the Royal Challengers in knocking off 159, after being reduced to five for 29, and then six for 68 at point in the match.
Kohli, who let RCB’s wild celebrations after the win, was all praise for the ‘big man’, saying that his innings has settled the debate once and for all.
“I don’t believe that I am standing here as the winning captain,” a delighted Kohli said. “That ends the debate who is the best. I bow down to the big man.”
“Come the big game, AB stands up,” the RCB captain pointed out in the post-match presentation. “One of the best knock under pressure. Really happy for him.”
Not only the players, but the whole Chinnaswamy Stadium erupted with the chants of “AB AB AB”. “This one is for the people of Bangalore,” Kohli said.
