Akash Chopra Praises MS Dhoni’s Contribution to Indian Team

Former Indian opener Akash Chopra has praised Mahendra Singh Dhoni. He hailed the former skipper after he became the second highest scoring wicketkeeper-batsman in the 3rd ODI against India.

The 35-year-old also surpassed former Aussie wicketkeeper Adam Gilchrist. MS Dhoni now has 9442 runs from 294 matches at an average of 51.31 with 10 hundreds and 63 half-centuries.

Sangakkara had scored 13341 runs in 360 matches at an average of 43.74 with 23 tons. Gilchrist, meanwhile, managed to score 9410 runs in 282 matches at an average of 35.64.

Chopra posted a video on twitter and talked about MS Dhoni’s importance in the Indian Cricket Team. He praised Dhoni’s game and said that it’s difficult for a middle-order batsman to make such great records.

Despite of the fact that he was the captain and had great pressure on him, he has succeeded in leading India to victory by being the finisher of many matches. Through the video he tried to tell that one match cannot define Mahendra Singh Dhoni, his consistent performance defines him in a much better way.
