After one-off Test, Rain set to play spoilsport in Bangladesh-India ODI series

Rain

It was frustrating to see rain every single day in the one-off Test, which ended in a draw, and it may continue in the Bangladesh-India ODI series as well.

The monsoon has arrived in Bangladesh and it rained heavily in Fatullah during the Test match, and signs are not encouraging for the ODI series, despite having a reserve day for all three matches.

“It’s a good thing because if the match can’t get over on the first day, we have a day in reserve,” Suresh Raina said. “But it means we’ll have to think of two days. The rain is not in our hands.”

“We have had a good batting and bowling session and we’ll go and field now. We’ll have a good meeting afterwards and once the match starts we’ll be focussed. The weather is not in our hands.”

According to Bangladesh Meteorological Department, the rain will continue to play spoilsport and chances of a washout are very high, as there is a possibility of thunder storms in Dhaka.

There was bright sunshine in the first practice session of Team India, and the players made most of it on Tuesday, but the following day the team was greeted with drizzle in the morning.

However, the facilities at the Shere Bangla National Stadium are far better than Fatullah. The stadium has better drainage and covers facilities, and according to reports, Team India is impressed with them.

Everyone is hoping that the rain god stays away during the ODI series and, after frustrating five days in Fatullah, the fans would see some cricketing action.
