Those who thought that Test cricket is not worth the money, think again. Because a Test match in India is actually worth Rs 50 crore.

This also means that the Indian Cricket Board (BCCI) would stand to lose this staggering sum of money if a Test match is cancelled under normal circumstances.

Sources said that Rs 50 crore is the subtotal of the money which the board earns through the broadcaster, other media right and by selling in-stadia space.

“And In case of rain or any other natural calamity, these Test matches are insured and there is no threat to the BCCI income,” a source told Drcricket7 on Tuesday while referring to the ongoing Test match between India and South Africa which is currently disrupted due to incessant rainfall in Bangalore.
